Hardy V.S.O.P. Cognac is a blend of the eaux-de-vie (“water of life,” as the new grape spirit is called) from four regions: Grande Champagne, Petit Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois. The Grande Champagne and Petit Champagne regions are the most highly regarded regions and the eaux-de-vie from these regions produce the best cognacs with the finest aroma. Hardy V.S.O.P. also contains eaux-de-vie from the Borderies and Fin Bois regions which lend it bouquet and a fruity touch. This Hardy Cognac has been aged for an average of eight years in limousin oak casks. Hardy V.S.O.P. cognac is medium bodied with a rich, smooth finish and a lightly fruity aroma. It has been cited for “outstanding quality” in The Wine Spectator cognac comparison in 1992.
